Case Study: Water Contamination at Chester Business Park

What Happened

Towards the end of 2019 our team of specialists were called to the Chester Business Park located to the south of Chester. A large building on the site had suffered from damage following torrential rain. This resulted in contaminated water entering the building via an old internal grid. As a result, standing water was left to gather under a steel raised floor system in the ground floor office.

Once we arrived, the team got to work with treating the areas that had been affected. The first step was to uplift the carpet tiles and expose the raised flooring system. This provided easy access to the standing water and allowed us to extract what was trapped.

After this we began to sanitise the area to remove any unwanted dirt, bacteria and grime. Once complete, we worked to dry the sub concrete floor and restore it to pre-incident condition. The floor tiles were then re-fitted and thoroughly cleaned. Our quick response time meant that downtime and disruption was at a minimum and all 40 staff members continued to work.
